Avocado and smoked salmon mousse
1. Prepare the avocados
Cut the avocados in half and remove the pits. Using a spoon, scoop out the flesh and place it in a bowl.
Add lemon juice to prevent the avocado from turning brown and to add a touch of freshness.
2. Mix the cream and mustard.
Add the cream cheese and sour cream to the bowl with the avocado. Mix well using an immersion blender or a whisk until you obtain a smooth and creamy texture.
Stir in the mild mustard to add depth to the mousse.
3. Add the Smoked Salmon
Cut the smoked salmon into small pieces and gently fold it into the mousse. You can reserve a few pieces for decoration.
4. Season
Season the mousse with salt and pepper to taste. If you like spicy food, add a few drops of Tabasco to spice things up.
5. Refrigerate and serve
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the mousse rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour so that the flavors blend well.
When ready to serve, garnish with chopped chives and a few pieces of smoked salmon for an elegant presentation.

If you wish to lighten this mousse while retaining the richness of the flavors, here are some alternatives:
Substitute cream cheese with low-fat fresh cheese for a lighter version without sacrificing taste.
Replace the heavy cream with plain yogurt or Greek yogurt for a lighter, higher-protein option.
For those following a vegan diet, you can try replacing smoked salmon with grilled vegetables (such as peppers or eggplants) and using a vegan alternative to cream cheese .
